After having covered Cairo, The Delta and the Suez Canal peripher, we interrupted this thread at La Farana’s ground in Fayoum on the Nile near Cairo, to take a giant step southbound along the river to Aswan.

Dr Khalid, once with El Gouna FC, now reunited with his hometown team in Aswan. I was guest of honour and permitted to watch a match from the bench between Aswan vs Petrol Assyut . Petrol Assuyt went on to win 0-3 and clinched the division title today to return to the top flight after a one year absence.
