Mastering such a relationship requires some degree of empathy, the establishment of trust, and a clear understanding of the horse’s limits.
So far, so good. But anybody considering taking up the challenge would do well to consider the potential dangers involved. A fall from a speeding or leaping steed can result in serious injury or even death. Accidents are particularly common among the less scrupulous riding establishments targeting tourists around the Giza pyramids, for example. This underlines the importance of finding a reputable riding school to take you from novice to competent rider, a process that may take several years. One thing that all the best schools have in common is that they offer excellent instruction to people of all levels of ability. Where they differ is in cost, location and general ambience.
